Blues Take Double Gold at U18 Nationals

The NSW Under 18 men's and women's teams have both won gold medals at the Australian Under 18 Basketball Championships, which were completed last weekend. Both NSW teams were undefeated throughout the tournament, with the men's victory giving NSW success at the last three national titles, whilst the victory by the women was the first-ever for a NSW women's team at this event. The NSW women were led by the outstanding Vanessa Panousis, who finished the preliminary rounds ranked first for Average Points per Game; first for Free Throw Shooting percentages and first for Three-Point Shooting percentages. Manly Warringah players dominated the men's stats, with Nicholas Duncan ranked first for Average Rebounds per game; second for Average Points per Game and third for Free Throw Shooting percentages, whilst Daniel Pitcher was ranked second for Three-Point Shooting percentages and Gerard Martin ranked third for Assists.
