A Sydney mother of two is on the verge of Australian export success with her all-Australian range of fully certified organic skincare products for babies and new mums. miniOrganics, founded by Sally Simond from Castlecrag, was last night awarded the NSW Export Scholarship at the 2011 Premier’s NSW Export Awards, announced by the Australian Institute of Export in Sydney.

The award comes just days before Sally and her daughters pack up their home and head to North America to firmly establish this Aussie-grown product in the international market.

‘It has been a huge week for miniOrganics, which is the world’s first fully certified organic skincare range for new mums and babies,’ Sally said. ‘It is such an honour to be recipient of the NSW Export Scholarship, coupled with us packing up to make the daunting, albeit temporary move half-way across the world.’

The international baby care category is estimated to be worth well in excess of $7 billion annually, with North America and Western Europe accounting for a 41% share. Within days, Sally will be on the ground in North America, tackling this highly competitive market head on. She also has the European market in her sights. ‘I firmly believe miniOrganics is well placed to make a huge impact in the tough US and Canadian markets’, Sally said.

‘Many other products make natural and organic claims, but in reality, very few reach the high standards necessary for organic certification.'
