Fallen trees on Blue Mountains Line, buses now replacing trains
Train delay sign
Trains have now resumed between Penrith and Springwood on the Blue Mountains Line after trees were cleared from the track. Several trains in the Blue Mountains are up to 60 minutes late but all other services are running to timetable.
The Transport Management Centre has issued this update on train delays on the Blue Mountains line which is affecting trains between Penrith and Springwood.
"There are major delays to trains on the Blue Mountains Line because trees have fallen on four sections of track.
Trains have been suspended between Penrith and Springwood as trees are down around Blaxland and Warrimoo, with buses replacing these services. Trees have also fallen around Katoomba and Medlow Bath but trains are getting through at reduced speed. Passengers are advised to listen to announcements when they arrive at stations."
